The annual CCGA Democracy Awards reception will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Chastain Horse Park. This year, we are proud to honor public officials, members of the media and citizens who have made a real difference in Georgia by working to improve our democracy.
The evening begins at 5:00pm with a reception followed by a presentation honoring this year’s awardees. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of Common Cause Georgia and our award recipients on this very special occasion.
We believe that by banding together, citizens can make a difference. We throw a spotlight on issues that affect all Georgians and work to strengthen public participation and to ensure that the political process serves the public interest, rather than the special interests. Help us celebrate those that hold power accountable!
We usually have several awardees per category because year after year, there are people who really step up and deserve recognition. 2014 is no exception! Because there have been employees of government agencies who blew the whistle on unethical conduct, we have added a whistleblower category. This year, we will also recognize one overall winner for each category and will award.
And the winners are!
